A dashboard that works for them

For as long as I have known, student dashboards have been old and always have been unfriendly; I remember in my student years, we had to use a dashboard that was more in line with working in the '90s. One word "terrible." Now that our company is dominating the education industry in The Netherlands, we are here to make changes for the better.

University Leiden is one of those projects, but it's not as simple as adding a new look to the current dashboard. No, under the hood, we are changing most of the infrastructure to handle heavier loads and have a resilient backend to handle peak loads when students start registering for their programs. In addition, the whole stack runs in AWS, which makes it scalable until our budget says No! 💸💸💸

Next to that, every time the discovery team finds a new solution to a problem, it tests it with real students and accessibility with real people with visibility issues.

My contribution to this project was helping out with setting up the whole front-end with another front-end developer. We wrote the code in React with TypeScript and connected it with GraphQL to all the APIs. It has been fun working on a big project like this.

Sorry, I can't share the link unless you want to become a student again. 🤔
